The Instrument Person at CC Land Surveyors, Inc. assists the Crew Chief in collecting information from the field and preparing it for the Cad Operators.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Instrument Person frequently lifts up to 25 pounds; regularly lifts up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds; and rarely lifts more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or less); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed at a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); and, ability to adjust focus(ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

Requirements

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current/Valid Georgia Drivers License.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CST Level I

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Operate surveying instruments and data collector
- Download information from data collector
- Using data collector back sight, traverse side-shut inverse coordinates screens
- Type on data collector
- How much to include in field book sketches
- Ability to anticipate where and when rod man will be needing shots from instrument
- Cutting traverse line efficiently
- Pacing out distances
- Finding property corner pins with metal detector
- Write-up and drive construction stakes
- Good driving by anticipating other drivers' erratic behavior.
